And, these are the things that I would like to have completed by this weekend:

Clean out Kat's room
Take Garage Sale stuff to April's old house
Stain front threshold
Okay, now here are some handy painting tips that I have learned so far in this Home remodeling journey:
1) To determine if a surface has been painted with latex or oil based paint, rub a tiny bit of alcohol in an isconspicuous place. If the paint comes off, it is latex based! (Yes, it does matter when repainting to know what you are painting over.)
2) Following the above tip, alcohol is great to soak old door hardware in to easily remove old paint. Also good to soak your paint brushes in after cleaning.
3) Before using a roller brush to paint walls, wrap it in masking tape and then pull it off. This will remove all of the little fuzzies that get stuck on the wall!
4) To save a roller or paint brush for the second coat when you don't want to wash it out and wait for it to dry, wrap in in a walmart bag or saran wrap. It will stay nice and moist!
5) To avoid getting paint on your baseboards when painting your wall or vise versa, trim out with the painter's tape and then apply a thin coat of the coler that you want it to stay (if your baseboards are white, paint a thin coat of white over the tape). By the time you have finished the process, the tape that you painted over first will be dry and it will be time to start with the new color. This prevents the new color from seeping through the tape because the thin coat of the original color has already done the seeping and dried, sealing it all up. Was that as clear as mud? Ask me in person if it didn't make sense and I will use my hand gestures to help describe the process! LOL
I am tired!
'Till next time,
Necia
